Registering for Little Bellas

You are REGISTERING for this program, meaning this is a guaranteed spot. Registration will move to a waitlist if the program fills to capacity and we will notify you if a spot opens up. You will only be granted a spot in this program or waitlist when you have completed the registration in its entirety and have received an email confirmation from Little Bellas.

Program Description

The summer is, unfortunately, coming to an end, boo! There is still some great riding to be had and what better way to get kids out and riding than the Little Bellas Knoxville Weekly Play Program! Ready to PLAY bikes? We are!

The Knoxville Weekly Play Program meets for six Sundays at Baker Creek Preserve and is open to girls ages 7-10 (all abilities welcome!). Based around having fun, the program creates an environment to allow each girl to make new friends, ride trails, and play games, all while learning skills for the sport of mountain biking. Whether it's riding the double track of Sycamore or taking the bermy single tracks of Floyd Fox, Baker Creek offers the program the perfect venue for fun, adventures in nature, and spectacular views for all abilities of rider.

Girls and Mentors (we don't coach, we mentor) ride once a week and participate in games and activities to help them build confidence and mountain bike skills in a progression. The girls will be given healthy challenges in a friendly, fun environment, both on and off the bike. This curriculum is designed to promote camaraderie among the girls, skill learning, and to perpetuate the love of mountain biking, all while having a great time! This program is for riding and fun and is not focused on competition.

Financial assistance is available if needed and we also have equipment available through our Gear Up program! Please communicate any of these needs when filling out the registration form for the program.

What to Bring:

• Bike Specific Helmet
• Mountain Bike - In good working order (with hand brakes, gears, and treaded tires)
• Water
• Closed-toed shoes
• Rain gear or extra layers if necessary

Schedule:

• 40 mins to 1 hr - Trail ride in small, age/ability appropriate groups
• 15 min - Snack (provided)
• 45 min - Games and activities (each day of the program has a different and unique curriculum)

Missy hails from Knoxville and lives roughly 1 mile from 70 miles of trails. Guess where you can find Missy most of the time. If you guessed, at fisheries trying to save imperiled fish species and the water they live in, you'd be correct! No, not what you guessed? Okay, Missy is a fisheries biologist, and it's awesome, but where can she be found the rest of the time? On the trails or at cycling events, spreading the word, ripping, and riding. A curator of high fives and perma-stoke, Missy was a mentor for the Little Bellas Chattanooga Program and loved it so much, she went about starting a chapter in Knoxville. She loved seeing the confidence built through the program and wants to continue to empower girls in her area and bring rad women together to ride bikes. Missy's passion, love for riding, and sharing that love most definitely makes her not just another fish in the sea. (see what I did there?) It makes her an amazing human Little Bellas is lucky to have!

Cancellation Policy

If you for any reason need to cancel your Little Bellas registration prior to your program start, we offer the following refund minus a $12 non-refundable processing fee:

8 or more weeks before launch: Full refund
5 to under 8 weeks before launch: 75% refund
3 to under 5 weeks before launch: 50% refund
2 to under 3 weeks before launch: 25% refund
Under 2 weeks before launch: No refund

Weather-Related Cancellations

If we must cancel a program day due to weather, one make-up day (or two, depending on the program) is built into the program schedule. Because our programs are largely volunteer-based, we are unable to guarantee additional make-up sessions beyond those built into the schedule.
