You are REGISTERING for this program, meaning this is a guaranteed spot. Registration will move to a waitlist if the program fills to capacity and we will notify you if a spot opens up. You will only be granted a spot in this program or waitlist when you have completed the registration in its entirety and have received an email confirmation from Little Bellas.

Program Description

There’s nothing like late summer into early fall in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. Kids are eager to get outside, explore, and experience the natural beauty of these pristine landscapes. The perfect way to do that? Our Brevard Weekly Program, a sister program to our popular Asheville Weekly program!

The Brevard Weekly Program offers recurring, all-girl mountain bike riding sessions on Tuesday nights at the scenic DuPont State Recreational Forest - Guion Farm Access Area, one of the top mountain biking destinations in North Carolina. Located near the world-renowned Pisgah National Forest, home to some of the most iconic mountain biking trails in the Southeast, this program gives girls the chance to ride in the heart of a region celebrated for its challenging terrain, lush forests, and breathtaking views.

The program creates a positive environment for girls to learn riding skills and gain confidence through the sport of mountain biking. Using both trail riding and specific games (both on and off the bike), the girls practice proper riding techniques, enjoy snacks, and make new friends—all while exploring the incredible trail networks near Pisgah National Forest and DuPont Forest.

Our mentors (we mentor, we don’t coach) meet with the girls once a week on Tuesdays for eight consecutive weeks during late summer into early fall. The goal is simple: to get girls outside, exploring new trails, connecting with each other, and growing their love for mountain biking. This program is about adventure, skill-building, and fun, not competition.

Financial assistance is available if needed, and we also have equipment through our Gear Up Program! Please communicate any of these needs when filling out the registration form for the program.

What to Bring:

• Bike Specific Helmet
• Mountain Bike - In good working order (with hand brakes, gears, and treaded tires)
• Water
• Closed-toed shoes
• Rain gear or extra layers if necessary

Schedule:

• 40 mins to 1 hr - Trail ride in small, age/ability appropriate groups
• 15 min - Snack (provided)
• 45 min - Games and activities (each day of the program has a different and unique curriculum)

Meet Brevard's program lead- Gracie Erwin. Most often Gracie is spotted riding in the Pisgah Forest with tassels on her bike, and googly eyes glued to the back of her helmet. Gracie was born and raised in the Asheville area, and learned how to mountain bike herself in Bent Creek! Gracie enjoys being silly on and off the bike, so Bellas will be sure to have a great time. Gracie's favorite ride features include steep shoots and narrow single track. She is an XC gal at heart, with a love for endurance riding. She loves vanilla soft serve ice cream with rainbow sprinkles, and spending time with her dog, Potato Chip. During the work week Gracie spends her time at The City of Hendersonville, achieving utility compliance for the water and sewer department. She has two degrees, a B.S. in Geology, and a Masters of Science in Forestry Resources.

Cancellation Policy

If you for any reason need to cancel your Little Bellas registration prior to your program start, we offer the following refund minus a $12 non-refundable processing fee:

8 or more weeks before launch: Full refund
5 to under 8 weeks before launch: 75% refund
3 to under 5 weeks before launch: 50% refund
2 to under 3 weeks before launch: 25% refund
Under 2 weeks before launch: No refund

Weather-Related Cancellations

If we must cancel a program day due to weather, one make-up day (or two, depending on the program) is built into the program schedule. Because our programs are largely volunteer-based, we are unable to guarantee additional make-up sessions beyond those built into the schedule.
