Registering for Little Bellas

You are REGISTERING for this program, meaning this is a guaranteed spot. Registration will move to a waitlist if the program fills to capacity and we will notify you if a spot opens up. You will only be granted a spot in this program or waitlist when you have completed the registration in its entirety and have received an email confirmation from Little Bellas.

Program Description

There is nothing like summer in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. Kids are ready to get out, play, and explore all these pristine mountains have to offer. The perfect solution: The Little Bellas Asheville Weekly Program!

The Asheville Weekly Program offers recurring, all-girl mountain bike riding sessions, Wednesday nights at Bent Creek Community Park in the Pisgah National Forest. Open to riders of all abilities, the main focus of each session is having fun! The program creates a positive environment for girls to learn riding skills and gain confidence through the sport of mountain biking. Using both trail riding and specific games both on and off the bike, the girls practice proper riding technique, eat snacks, and make new friends, all on Asheville's go-to mountain bike trails.

Girls and mentors (we mentor, we don't coach) meet once a week, every Tuesday over the course of 8 weeks during the summer. The goal is to get girls outside, out on trails, and out with other girls to reinforce common bonds and build confidence, all while progressively building mountain bike skills throughout the summer. This program is for riding and fun and is not focused on competition.

Financial assistance is available if needed and we also have equipment available through our Gear Up program! Please communicate any of these needs when filling out the registration form for the program.

What to Bring:

• Bike Specific Helmet
• Mountain Bike - In good working order (with hand brakes, gears, and treaded tires)
• Water
• Closed-toed shoes
• Rain gear or extra layers if necessary

Schedule:

• 40 mins to 1 hr - Trail ride in small, age/ability appropriate groups
• 15 min - Snack (provided)
• 45 min - Games and activities (each day of the program has a different and unique curriculum)

A recent transplant to Asheville, Jade is excited to carry the torch as lead of the Little Bellas Asheville chapter. An actress by day, Jade came to love biking again as an adult, heavily influenced by her partner, Nick. Though she doesn't race like he does, they do enjoy taking unrelaxing bike vacations in other countries where they pedal from city to city, getting intimately acquainted with their new surroundings--arguably the best way to experience a new place! Previously, Jade was an 8th Grade Reading teacher in Texas, and absolutely loved working with kids. She's excited to continue working with the next generations, cultivating confidence, silliness, and strength, all through play. She's also a Regional Support Specialist for a handful of Southeastern Little Bellas chapters, and loves helping her leads get more girls on bikes.

Cancellation Policy

If you for any reason need to cancel your Little Bellas registration prior to your program start, we offer the following refund minus a $12 non-refundable processing fee:

8 or more weeks before launch: Full refund
5 to under 8 weeks before launch: 75% refund
3 to under 5 weeks before launch: 50% refund
2 to under 3 weeks before launch: 25% refund
Under 2 weeks before launch: No refund

Weather-Related Cancellations

If we must cancel a program day due to weather, one make-up day (or two, depending on the program) is built into the program schedule. Because our programs are largely volunteer-based, we are unable to guarantee additional make-up sessions beyond those built into the schedule.
