You are REGISTERING for this program, meaning this is a guaranteed spot. Registration will move to a waitlist if the program fills to capacity and we will notify you if a spot opens up. You will only be granted a spot in this program or waitlist when you have completed the registration in its entirety and have received an email confirmation from Little Bellas.

Program Description

Is there anything better than riding bikes on warm summer evenings as the seasons begin to shift? What better way to enjoy the trails than with the Little Bellas Columbus Weekly Program!

Meeting at the scenic and beginner-friendly Standing Boy Trails in Columbus, Georgia, the Columbus Weekly Program is open to girls ages 7–13 of all riding abilities. This 8-week youth mountain biking program runs through late summer into early fall and helps each girl build confidence, learn new skills, and have fun in a positive, all-girls environment. Through a mix of trail riding and fun games on and off the bike, girls practice proper riding techniques, enjoy snacks, and make new friends. The variety of trails at Standing Boy means every rider can find terrain that’s both accessible and exciting.

Once a week, on Mondays, girls and Mentors (we don't coach, we mentor) meet for two hours of riding, games, and connection. Through these activities, we focus on having fun while introducing and developing fundamental to advanced mountain biking skills. Our curriculum builds skills progressively and encourages a lifelong love of mountain biking—all while laughing, learning, and enjoying the ride! This program is all about joy and growth, not competition.

Financial assistance is available, and we offer loaner bikes and helmets through our Gear Up program. Just let us know your needs when filling out the registration form!

What to Bring:

• Bike Specific Helmet
• Mountain Bike - In good working order (with hand brakes, gears, and treaded tires)
• Water
• Closed-toed shoes
• Rain gear or extra layers if necessary

Schedule:

• 40 mins to 1 hr - Trail ride in small, age/ability appropriate groups
• 15 min - Snack (provided)
• 45 min - Games and activities (each day of the program has a different and unique curriculum)

Amy is the Executive Director of Standing Boy Inc., the nonprofit stewarding the Standing Boy Preserve in Columbus, Georgia. A lifelong outdoor enthusiast, she’s passionate about getting more people—especially girls—out on bikes and into the woods. Amy brings deep roots in the Columbus community and a background in road cycling, triathlon, and fitness. She’s a PMBIA Level One certified mountain bike instructor and a retired music educator. When she’s not on the trails, you can find her at the piano or playing guitar and singing with her local band, Southbound Dog!

Cancellation Policy

If you for any reason need to cancel your Little Bellas registration prior to your program start, we offer the following refund minus a $12 non-refundable processing fee:

8 or more weeks before launch: Full refund
5 to under 8 weeks before launch: 75% refund
3 to under 5 weeks before launch: 50% refund
2 to under 3 weeks before launch: 25% refund
Under 2 weeks before launch: No refund

Weather-Related Cancellations

If we must cancel a program day due to weather, one make-up day (or two, depending on the program) is built into the program schedule. Because our programs are largely volunteer-based, we are unable to guarantee additional make-up sessions beyond those built into the schedule.
