You are REGISTERING for this program, meaning this is a guaranteed spot. Registration will move to a waitlist if the program fills to capacity and we will notify you if a spot opens up. You will only be granted a spot in this program or waitlist when you have completed the registration in its entirety and have received an email confirmation from Little Bellas.

Program Description

September offers up some great riding in the South! Trails are dry, weather is clear, and kids are back in school but what better way to keep kids out and on their bikes than the Little Bellas Athens Weekly Program!

The Athens Weekly Program meets for eight Tuesdays at Walker Park and welcomes girls of all abilities. Based around having fun, the program creates an environment to allow each girl to make new friends, ride trails, and play games, all while learning skills for the sport of mountain biking. Whether it's the dips and flow of the Green Loop or the berms, rollers, and rocks of Drive By Trucker (one of the best trail names ever), there is something for all abilities of rider.

Girls and Mentors (we don't coach, we mentor) ride once a week and participate in games and activities to help them build confidence and mountain bike skills in a progression. The girls will be given healthy challenges in a friendly, fun environment, both on and off the bike. This curriculum is designed to promote camaraderie among the girls, skill learning, and to perpetuate the love of mountain biking, all while having a great time! This program is for riding and fun and is not focused on competition.

Financial assistance is available if needed and we also have equipment available through our Gear Up program! Please communicate any of these needs when filling out the registration form for the program.

What to Bring:

• Bike Specific Helmet
• Mountain Bike - In good working order (with hand brakes, gears, and treaded tires)
• Water
• Closed-toed shoes
• Rain gear or extra layers if necessary

Schedule:

• 40 mins to 1 hr - Trail ride in small, age/ability appropriate groups
• 15 min - Snack (provided)
• 45 min - Games and activities (each day of the program has a different and unique curriculum)

Retired enduro racer turned mountain bike coach and new mom of 2, Terri Watts can now be found leading the Little Bellas around the trails of Athens, GA. After winning the 2017 Enduro National Championship, she set her sights on becoming a PMBIA certified mountain bike coach and then moved on to her greatest adventure yet, raising 2 little shredders! An occupational therapist by trade, Terri loves meshing the science of bodies in motion with the stoke and fun of playing bikes in the woods with friends. She’s as excited to stop and look at cool rocks and share a trail-side snack as she is to session a favorite feature. As a recovering racer, she’s very much enjoying the journey more than the destination these days and she cannot wait to share her love of bikes with the local Little Bellas!

Cancellation Policy

If you for any reason need to cancel your Little Bellas registration prior to your program start, we offer the following refund minus a $12 non-refundable processing fee:

8 or more weeks before launch: Full refund
5 to under 8 weeks before launch: 75% refund
3 to under 5 weeks before launch: 50% refund
2 to under 3 weeks before launch: 25% refund
Under 2 weeks before launch: No refund

Weather-Related Cancellations

If we must cancel a program day due to weather, one make-up day (or two, depending on the program) is built into the program schedule. Because our programs are largely volunteer-based, we are unable to guarantee additional make-up sessions beyond those built into the schedule.
