You are REGISTERING for this program, meaning this is a guaranteed spot. Registration will move to a waitlist if the program fills to capacity and we will notify you if a spot opens up. You will only be granted a spot in this program or waitlist when you have completed the registration in its entirety and have received an email confirmation from Little Bellas.

Program Description

What's a great way to get kids outdoors and riding the trails? The Little Bellas Tuscaloosa Weekly Program!

The Tuscaloosa Weekly Program is a Mountain Bike Program that meets at Munny Sokol Mountain Bike Trails and is open to girls of all abilities. The program offers five recurring mountain biking sessions throughout the season and focuses on allowing each girl to learn new skills and build confidence, all in a positive, fun environment. Using trail riding and specific games both on and off the bike, the girls practice proper riding technique, eat snacks, and make new friends, less than six miles from downtown Tuscaloosa.

Once a week, Thursdays, over the course of 5 weeks, girls and Mentors (we don't coach, we mentor) will meet and participate in a variety of activities including games and trail riding. Through these games and activities, we focus on having fun, using the different elements of the activity to teach and work on basic to more advanced mountain bike skills. This curriculum is designed to teach the girls skills progressively, and perpetuate the love of mountain biking, all while laughing, giggling, and having a great time! This program is for riding and fun and is not focused on competition.

Financial assistance is available if needed and we also have equipment available through our Gear Up program! Please communicate any of these needs when filling out the registration form for the program.

What to Bring:

• Bike Specific Helmet
• Mountain Bike - In good working order (with hand brakes, gears, and treaded tires)
• Water
• Closed-toed shoes
• Rain gear or extra layers if necessary

Schedule:

• 40 mins to 1 hr - Trail ride in small, age/ability appropriate groups
• 15 min - Snack (provided)
• 45 min - Games and activities (each day of the program has a different and unique curriculum)

Jennifer, from Tuscaloosa, Alabama, is a proud mom to two boys—one in high school and one a firefighter—and an active member of her community. Her involvement with the Tuscaloosa Mountain Flyers during her son’s seven years of racing introduced her to the mountain biking world, where she became a mentor with Little Bellas. Jennifer volunteers annually at "The Hot Hundred" ride benefiting the Tuscaloosa Mental Health Alliance, supports the local GobbleCross cyclocross race, and helped organize WAMBA’s inaugural haunted house in 2024. A full-time program director for Behavioral Health Group, she loves mountain biking, baseball, cooking, photography, and Disney World, and treasures time with her two dogs, Murphy and Kruz.

Cancellation Policy

If you for any reason need to cancel your Little Bellas registration prior to your program start, we offer the following refund minus a $12 non-refundable processing fee:

8 or more weeks before launch: Full refund
5 to under 8 weeks before launch: 75% refund
3 to under 5 weeks before launch: 50% refund
2 to under 3 weeks before launch: 25% refund
Under 2 weeks before launch: No refund

Weather-Related Cancellations

If we must cancel a program day due to weather, one make-up day (or two, depending on the program) is built into the program schedule. Because our programs are largely volunteer-based, we are unable to guarantee additional make-up sessions beyond those built into the schedule.
