Registering for Little Bellas

You are REGISTERING for this program, meaning this is a guaranteed spot. Registration will move to a waitlist if the program fills to capacity and we will notify you if a spot opens up. You will only be granted a spot in this program or waitlist when you have completed the registration in its entirety and have received an email confirmation from Little Bellas.

Program Description

It's spring and what a fabulous time to get outside, on bikes and on trails in West Virginia! The weather is awesome and the trails primed and ready for sweet riding. What better way to soak up the fading hours of daylight and get girls out riding their bikes than Little Bellas Hurricane Weekly Program.

This program meets at Hurricane City Park and Meeks Mountain Trails and offers eight recurring mountain biking sessions throughout the season to allow each girl to make new friends, learn new skills, and build confidence, all in a positive, fun environment. Whether it's riding the dirt trails, having snacks, or navigating their way through the bike limbo tunnel, the program creates an environment built around having fun and learning the skills of mountain biking.

Girls and mentors (we mentor, we don't coach) will ride once a week and work on a skills mountain bike progression through different activities, rides, and games. These girls will be given healthy challenges in a friendly, fun environment. This program is for riding and fun and is not focused on competition.

Financial assistance is available if needed and we also have equipment available through our Gear Up program! Please communicate any of these needs when filling out the registration form for the program.

What to Bring:

• Bike Specific Helmet
• Mountain Bike - In good working order (with hand brakes, gears, and treaded tires)
• Water
• Closed-toed shoes
• Rain gear or extra layers if necessary

Schedule:

• 40 mins to 1 hr - Trail ride in small, age/ability appropriate groups
• 15 min - Snack (provided)
• 45 min - Games and activities (each day of the program has a different and unique curriculum)

Julie, a 2nd-grade teacher with a passion for inspiring her students to love the outdoors, grew up riding a pink banana seat bike and never stopped pedaling. She once took a 43-day cross-country bike trip, camping and playing along the way. A dedicated trail builder for Meeks Mountain Trails, Julie and her husband opened Wheelbilly Bikes in 2021 at the trailhead of their local system. She leads a weekly ladies' mountain bike night, serves as head coach for her local NICA youth team, and is a GRiT Coach Ambassador, mentoring girls at annual primitive mountain bike camp. Whether riding local XC trails, tackling Snowshoe's downhill terrain, or exploring long gravel rides through West Virginia's scenic mountains, Julie's love for cycling is boundless.

Cancellation Policy

If you for any reason need to cancel your Little Bellas registration prior to your program start, we offer the following refund minus a $12 non-refundable processing fee:

8 or more weeks before launch: Full refund
5 to under 8 weeks before launch: 75% refund
3 to under 5 weeks before launch: 50% refund
2 to under 3 weeks before launch: 25% refund
Under 2 weeks before launch: No refund

Weather-Related Cancellations

If we must cancel a program day due to weather, one make-up day (or two, depending on the program) is built into the program schedule. Because our programs are largely volunteer-based, we are unable to guarantee additional make-up sessions beyond those built into the schedule.
